I'm trying to update the firmware for my Color LaserJet CP2025dn. I download the firmware updater from and run the program. I choose my printer and send the firmware and the utility shows a smiley face and the Exit button is now available, telling me that the firmware has been successfully updated. When I reboot the pinter and print a configuration page, it reports that the firmware date code is still (as it was before I updated) 20100512 so I know that it hasn't updated it's firmware at all. Can someone tell me how to update the firmware so that it will actually update? I've read about the exact same issue but the only reply was someone saying 'you don't need to update the firmware'.

I then downloaded the HP Universal Print Driver for Windows PCL6 (64-bit), file name upd-pcl6-x64-6.5.0.22695.exe. Installed selecting Traditional Mode; Then in the Add Printer window that opens selecting Add a printer using a TCP/IP address; In the next window Device Type: Autodetect and entered my IP address After that driver was installed I noticed it had selected the WSD Port; it may have created a new WSD Port, I can't say for sure. At this point, when I ran the firware update it ran properly and did the update.
